Over the last couple of days, our group leaders took it upon themselves to create an impromptu community service project due to the fact the original plans fell through the cracks and, we were left with nothing to do. So, as a result, we decided that we would walk the streets of Manhattan and perform random acts of kindness. It was pretty eventful. I gave money to various people and a homeless shelter while walking along Times Square and performed the usual good Samaritan duties such as holding doors open for people et cetera. After a day of good deeds, the next day was filled with food distribution activities. The whole group made sack lunches with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and a piece of fresh fruit in each one, we handed all of them out to homeless people in multiple transportation hubs throughout the city. It was a very busy, yet very rewarding last couple of days.
