Our Girl Ramona

My group went to the Manna of Life Ministries. We started out by making sandwiches to be packed into bags with fruit and juice. Those bags were then distributed to people who came to the house. The rest of the supplies along with hot chicken noodle soup were then taken out into the community. We visited two different gas station where unemployed and homeless laborers were found. We also went to a mission to serve the people there. All of the people there were so uplifting. Their prayers were so moving and emotional that it really touched me. It is always amazing to see people who feel so deeply about something. Each of them really care for their work from the bottoms of their hearts. Ramona is the woman in the picture above. She was such an outgoing and friendly woman. Her optimism and warmth was contagious. She was constantly talking and teaching us life lessons that everyone could relate to. Small acts of charity are helpful, but what they are doing there has made a huge impact. They are truly making a change in their community which is what service should be about. Each year their organization continues to grow and positively impact more people. She taught me just how much of a change one person can make if they take the time to do so.
